Democracy Now article: Domestic Workers Fight for Bill of Rights

Democracy Now interviewed full-time organizer with Domestic Workers United, Joycelyn Gill-Campbell about New York State's Domestic Workers Bill of Rights.  The bill will amend New York state labor law and will guarantee nannies and housekeepers a living wage, overtime pay, sick leave, severance and heatlh benefits and protection from employment discrimination.  See link for more information and hear the interview.   If the bill is passed, this will be the first law protecting the rights of women working in the "private sphere" across the United States and globally.
